Alisa Zachery, LCSW, CCATP

I am a survivor and overcomer of many things, but I have not always felt like I had a person who I could talk to about everything that was going on in my heart and my mind. Someone who did not judge or measure my flaws. Someone who supported me even when I showed interest in an endeavor that they did not quite understand or agree with.

My life depended on having that person in my world who saw me and recognized all that I was going through.

I embarked on my first therapy experience during a very pivotal time when I felt alone and in danger in my own environment. Two therapists cared for me when I needed it the most.

My decision to become a therapist was partly due to my own therapy experience, but mainly because of my desire to be that person in the lives of those who need what I needed… Peace, Balance, Clarity, Guidance, Happiness, Insight, Joy, Laughter, Purpose, Relief, Kindness, and Self-forgiveness.

I am committed to ensuring that the therapy experience for each of my clients changes the trajectory of their life.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional (CCATP) from Oakland, CA. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Louisiana, Lafayette and Master of Social Work degree from Southern University, New Orleans.

My diverse background in the health/mental health field extends over eighteen years. My clinical work has equally been with adolescents and adults with the goals of restructuring thoughts and behaviors, developing healthy and nurturing relationships, learning new skills to minimize the impact of distressing situations, building self-confidence, enhancing self-awareness, and/or finding or rediscovering purpose.

My unwavering commitment in practice stems from my passion and dedication to uphold social justice and the breaking of any barrier that stands in the way of social mobility. I strive to de-stigmatize how mental health treatment is viewed and talked about, and strongly advocate against its underutilization in our communities of color.

I am here extending a warm welcome into a safe and secure space that is being held especially for you.
